A normal cartoon lab is around 45 - 50 minutes. He can also set up in a pre-determined space and the students by their grade can come to that location for their session
If it's a business, church, or other organization he will specifically work with you and your group to make it as easy, and accesible as possible.
Each participant will create a cartoon character of their very own in the time allotted.

Reviews
"We have not had an artist in residence in our school for three years, because it was always a risk to find someone who was effective. His two days in our classrooms offered our students more than they have received in a full week with past artists. Not only is he talented, but also engaging. Whether working in 5th grade or in Kindergarten, Jason motivated our students to believe in their ability to draw. In addition, we added a parent aspect with an evening session. Watching fathers and mothers, sitting together with their children while learning the basics of drawing, was a beautiful sight. Afterwards, parents were beaming at their child's interest and talent in drawing cartoon characters. When I commented to one mother about her son's drawing, she said, "All because of some good instruction." Thank you for providing our students with new skills and a new-found love of drawing."

"Jason came and spent a day giving a beginning cartooning workshop to about 350 students at our school. His presentation was entertaining and engaging for students, no matter what their talent or interest level is in cartooning or drawing. His passion showed through in his active discussion and demonstrations, and the students left the workshops with a better understanding of what it takes to be an artist, and a greater appreciation of their own talents and interests."

"I just want to let you know about Jason Folkerts. We recently had Jason up at our elementary school working on cartooning lessons with our Pre-k to 5th grade students. Jason did an awesome job instructing students on cartooning. He is enthusiastic and relates well with all the students. My staff was very impressed with him – some comments from staff “Wow, he works great with the kids!” “He really gets students engaged in the lesson!” “Kids had fun with Jason today!” We invited the students/parents/community in for an evening with Jason – drawing superheroes. We had so many show up, we were scrambling to get more chairs and tables. He did an excellent job and again we heard many positive comments. A couple years back, we also had Jason come up and create a mural in our cafeteria, which he did an excellent job! If looking for a mural or an energetic person to engage your students with cartooning lessons, I highly recommend inviting Jason to your school. Jason is very flexible and easy to work with."

"We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to host artist Jason Folkerts for a day of cartooning and art theory for all of our students here in Kadoka. Jason did a fantastic job educating all levels of learners and his passion for art and art education was top notch. With little opportunity for art in our school district, this was a fantastic opportunity to have an expert come and get our students excited about learning. If you have the chance to bring Jason into your school, I would recommend you jump at the opportunity."

"The students at Knickrehm Elementary loved working with Jason. He did a fantastic job of making drawing accessible for students of all ages and skill levels. In fact, the kids were so excited that many of them brought their parents and older brothers and sisters back to school that evening for another opportunity to draw with Jason."
